Eastleigh sign striker Aaron Blair from Maidstone United to boost their National League promotion hopes after struggling for goals last season.

Eastleigh have landed prolific striker Aaron Blair from Maidstone United in a statement signing aimed at fixing their goal-scoring woes ahead of the 2025/26 National League campaign.

The forward netted 19 goals in the National League South last season and now joins Kelvin Davis’ squad at the Silverlake Stadium, where firepower has been in short supply.

The Spitfires scored just 58 goals last term — the lowest of any top-half side.

The move was confirmed on Wednesday as part of a busy recruitment drive on the south coast.

Aaron Blair: “Right Time to Step Up”

Speaking after sealing the move, Blair said:

“I feel ecstatic. I’m very happy to have signed.
It’s been a long time coming, and I think it’s the right time to make the step up.
I want to get promoted and goals and assists are what I want to bring to the team.”

The striker is confident he can transition smoothly to National League level and help fire Eastleigh toward a coveted EFL promotion.

More Additions at Silverlake

Blair’s arrival wasn’t the only bit of business.

Eastleigh also signed goalkeeper Nick Townsend from Newport County, adding vital experience between the posts. Meanwhile, midfielder Jake Taylor has committed his future to the club, offering stability in the middle of the park.

Earlier this week, defender Temi Eweka was also confirmed as a new signing, joining Blair in making the jump from Maidstone United.

Maidstone Confirm Departures

Maidstone released a statement following the double exit:

“Aaron Blair and Temi Eweka have notified the club they have decided not to accept a new deal and will leave to pursue an opportunity at a higher level.
We thank them for their contributions and wish them every success.”
