Trevoh Chalobah is riding high after a dream week that saw him win the UEFA Conference League with Chelsea in Poland and earn his first senior England call-up for upcoming fixtures against Andorra and Senegal.
The Cobham graduate, who has long aimed to represent his country, joined up with Gareth Southgate’s squad after Chelsea’s 4-1 triumph over Real Betis.
Chalobah’s European Success with Chelsea
Chelsea wrapped up their season in style with a commanding 4-1 victory over Real Betis in Poland, securing the UEFA Conference League title.
Chalobah played a key role in the final, helping the Blues claim their first piece of silverware under their current campaign.
Speaking after the final whistle, Chalobah reflected on the momentous achievement.
“To win a trophy with my club, and then follow that up with my first senior England call-up is really special,” he said.
First England Call-Up: A Career Milestone
Just days after lifting the trophy, Chalobah received the news that he had been named in England’s latest squad.
The 24-year-old defender, who has represented his country at youth levels, described the call-up as a “dream come true.”
“Playing for my country is something that’s been a goal of mine for a few seasons now,” Chalobah shared. “I’m just happy and glad to be here with the boys.”
The current squad includes familiar faces, easing his transition into the senior camp.
“I already knew a lot of the boys, so it’s been easy to settle in,” he added.
A Footballing Family: Inspiration from Brother Nathaniel
Trevoh’s football journey has been shaped in part by his older brother, Nathaniel Chalobah, who also played for Chelsea and earned senior England caps.
“My brother is a big support to me,” Trevoh said. “He was buzzing when I told him the news.”
The Chalobah family’s celebration was filled with pride and emotion, marking another chapter in their football legacy.
“It was a really cool moment for me to be able to share with my family. Everyone was really happy and excited.”
Looking Ahead: Training and Opportunity
With matches against Andorra and Senegal on the horizon, Chalobah is focused on making the most of his opportunity.
“I’m looking forward to getting stuck into training and being ready for the games,” he said.
As he prepares to potentially earn his first senior cap, Chalobah’s confidence and humility reflect a player ready to rise to the challenge.
