A host of Tottenham Hotspur players will be representing their nations this June as the international football calendar springs back into action, with World Cup qualifiers, UEFA Nations League clashes, and youth European Championships all on the agenda.
Richarlison headlines the senior call-ups, returning to the Brazil national team for the first time in over a year, while Spain’s Pedro Porro gears up for a UEFA Nations League semi-final showdown.
Several emerging Spurs talents, including goalkeeper Josh Keeley and attacker Jamie Donley, have also been selected for senior international duty.
Richarlison Returns as World Cup Qualifiers Begin
The most notable name among Tottenham’s international contingent is Richarlison, who has been recalled by Brazil for crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
The forward, absent from national selection since March 2024, will be hoping to reignite his international form in back-to-back fixtures against Ecuador (6 June) and Paraguay (11 June).
Centre-back Cristian Romero and midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur also feature prominently for Argentina and Uruguay respectively, with both South American nations set to face tough qualifying matches.
Romero’s Argentina meet Chile and Colombia, while Bentancur’s Uruguay face Paraguay and Venezuela.
Elsewhere, Heung-Min Son will captain South Korea through their World Cup qualifiers against Iraq (5 June) and Kuwait (10 June), continuing his ever-reliable presence for his national team.
UEFA Nations League Spotlight for Porro
Defender Pedro Porro is poised to play a key role in Spain’s Nations League campaign. Spain face France in a high-stakes semi-final in Germany on 5 June, with either Portugal or hosts Germany awaiting in the final or third-place play-off on 8 June.
Porro has been a consistent performer for Spurs this season and could use this platform to cement his place in the Spanish setup.
Meanwhile, Destiny Udogie (Italy) and Ben Davies and Brennan Johnson (Wales) are also lined up for World Cup qualifiers.
Udogie’s Italy face Norway and Moldova, while the Welsh duo are involved in matches against Liechtenstein (6 June) and Belgium (9 June).
Youth Talent Recognised on the International Stage
Tottenham’s commitment to developing young talent is evident in the number of academy and loanee players featuring across youth international levels this month.
Josh Keeley receives his first senior Republic of Ireland call-up and is set to feature in friendlies against Senegal (6 June) and Luxembourg (10 June).
His Under-21 teammate Aaron Maguire will represent the Republic of Ireland U21s in friendlies against Croatia and Qatar.
Jamie Donley continues his rise, keeping his place in the Northern Ireland senior squad.
The Leyton Orient loanee is expected to play in friendlies against Denmark (7 June) and Iceland (10 June), as he builds on an impressive year of development.
At youth European Championship level, Archie Gray has been named in England’s provisional Under-21 squad for the Euros in Slovakia, with matches scheduled against Czechia (12 June), Slovenia (15 June), and Germany (18 June).
France’s Wilson Odobert and Mathys Tel are also in contention for the tournament and will face Portugal, Georgia, and Poland in Group Stage action.
The Under-19 Euros in Romania will see Spurs’ Mikey Moore and Reiss-Alexander Russell-Denny, the latter a recent standby addition, in action for England.
Their group includes matches against Norway (14 June), Germany (17 June), and the Netherlands (20 June).
Absentees and Injury Withdrawals
Not all Tottenham players are available for national selection.
Goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario (Italy) and forward Dane Scarlett (England Under-21s) have both withdrawn from their respective squads due to undisclosed fitness issues.
Their absence is a concern for club and country, particularly with pre-season fixtures looming in July.
