Arsenal Players Set for Key International Matches During Busy June Window
Twelve Arsenal players have been selected to represent their nations during the current international break, with critical Nations League clashes, 2026 World Cup qualifiers, and friendlies scheduled across Europe and the Americas between June 5 and 11.
Spain’s Mikel Merino and David Raya will be aiming to defend their UEFA Nations League crown as they take on France in Thursday’s semi-final in Stuttgart.
The winner will progress to Sunday’s final in Munich to face either Germany or Portugal.
France, however, will be without injured Arsenal centre-back William Saliba. A third-place play-off awaits the semi-final losers.
England Trio Eyes World Cup Progress
Declan Rice, Bukayo Saka, and Myles Lewis-Skelly have all been named in England’s squad as they look to maintain their perfect start in 2026 World Cup qualification.
The Three Lions face Andorra on Saturday at RCDE Stadium in Barcelona, followed by a friendly against Senegal on Tuesday at Nottingham Forest’s City Ground.
New England manager Thomas Tuchel continues to assess his squad ahead of next summer’s finals in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
England have already seen off Albania and Latvia in their opening two qualifiers.
Odegaard Leads Norway’s Bid for First Major Tournament Since 2000
Captain Martin Ødegaard will be pivotal for Norway as they aim to continue their unbeaten qualifying run.
The Norwegians host Italy on Friday in Oslo, followed by a trip to Tallinn to face Estonia on Monday.
Ødegaard may line up against fellow Gunner Karl Hein, who is on loan and expected to feature for Estonia.
Poland, Belgium, and Scotland Enter Pivotal Stretch
Jakub Kiwior will look to maintain Poland’s momentum, having won both previous qualifiers.
Poland face Finland on Tuesday in Helsinki after a friendly against Moldova on Friday.
Leandro Trossard’s Belgium begin their qualifying campaign against North Macedonia on Friday before welcoming Wales to Brussels on Tuesday.
With both of Belgium’s opponents already on four points, the Red Devils face early pressure to close the gap.
Kieran Tierney and Scotland kick off their campaign with a home tie against Iceland on Friday, followed by a Monday clash with Liechtenstein in Vaduz.
Zinchenko, Martinelli Join Key International Friendlies and Qualifiers
Oleksandr Zinchenko will take part in a friendly tournament in Canada, as Ukraine face the hosts on Saturday in Toronto and New Zealand on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Gabriel Martinelli has been called up to Carlo Ancelotti’s first Brazil squad.
The Selecao face Ecuador on Friday in Guayaquil and Paraguay in São Paulo next Wednesday.
Just two points separate the top sides in South American qualifying, making these fixtures crucial for Brazil’s World Cup ambitions.
