Eberechi Eze and Dean Henderson are on international duty this week as England gear up for a crucial stretch in their World Cup qualification campaign.

The Crystal Palace pair have joined the Three Lions in Spain ahead of today’s European qualifier against Andorra (Saturday, 7 June, 17:00 BST), followed by a home friendly with Senegal on Tuesday (10 June, 19:45 BST) at Nottingham’s City Ground.

With just over a year until the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America, manager Thomas Tuchel is using the international window for both tactical preparation and team bonding.

From the Pit Lane to the Pitch

The squad landed in Barcelona last Sunday and wasted no time embracing the local culture — and motorsport.

Players, including Eze and Henderson, attended the Spanish Grand Prix, enjoying exclusive paddock access as Oscar Piastri took his fifth win of the season.

Training in Girona’s Heat

Following the high-speed weekend, England relocated to Girona for a warm-weather training camp at the Camiral Golf & Wellness resort.

The choice of location wasn’t just scenic — it was strategic.

Tuchel is keen to acclimatize his squad to conditions similar to those expected during next summer’s tournament in North America.

Inside the Eze and Henderson Heat Training Regime

“It was quite difficult to do,” Eze shared with reporters.

“You had to be on the bike for 45 minutes, taking tablets, with your heart rate and body temperature monitored.”

The Women’s International Football community has adopted similar methods in preparation for global events, showing the increasing scientific overlap in elite football.

“It gave us insight into how our bodies will react in heat,” Eze added.

Clubs and Chemistry

Despite the intensity of the sessions, there was still time for some light relief.

The players swapped footballs for golf clubs, teeing off together at the resort.

With camaraderie growing and Tuchel’s methods taking hold, the squad appears well-prepared for both Andorra and Senegal — and, more importantly, the challenges ahead in North America.
