John Gilbert Signs for Maidstone United After Standout Season
Maidstone United have officially signed midfielder John Gilbert from Slough Town ahead of the upcoming National League South campaign.
The 24-year-old attacking midfielder made 46 appearances and scored nine goals last season, cementing himself as one of the most consistent performers in the division.
From Walton & Hersham to Slough Success
Gilbert first rose to prominence at Walton & Hersham, where he was instrumental in their promotion via the Isthmian South Central play-offs.
He moved to Slough Town, where under Scott Davies, he developed into a key player at National League South level—earning praise for his energy, intelligence, and goal contributions.
Why Maidstone United?
Having experienced the matchday buzz at Gallagher Stadium as an opponent, Gilbert was immediately drawn to the club’s ambition and fanbase.
“The atmosphere at Gallagher last season was incredible,” said Gilbert.
“I can’t wait to get started here and give everything for this club.”
