Nathaniel Clyne and Remi Matthews have committed their futures to Crystal Palace, signing fresh contracts that keep them at Selhurst Park through 2026 and 2027 respectively.

The new deals were confirmed this week in South London, with Clyne securing a two-year extension and Matthews committing for another two seasons.

Both players are considered key dressing room figures by the club hierarchy, offering leadership and stability to the squad.

Clyne, a seasoned defender who came through Palace’s academy, has now racked up 238 appearances in red and blue.

This past season, the 33-year-old featured 19 times across all competitions, continuing to showcase his composure and reliability at the back.

Matthews, who joined the Eagles in 2019, made his first-team debut last season in a high-profile clash against Liverpool.

While not a regular starter, the goalkeeper has been vital as backup and a steady hand in training and match preparation.

Chairman Praises Influence of Clyne and Matthews

Reacting to the contract renewals, Palace chairman Steve Parish highlighted the duo’s off-field impact as much as their on-pitch contributions.

“We are pleased to be retaining Nathaniel and Remi’s services next season,” Parish stated.“They are two highly dependable members of the squad who set a high standard in their hard work, leadership and professionalism, and they will continue to play an important role at the club.”
