Fer Lopez Joins Wolves in Summer Transfer Move

Wolverhampton Wanderers have signed Fer Lopez from Celta Vigo for £19 million, completing their first summer signing in a strategic move ahead of the new Premier League season.

The 21-year-old Spanish forward joins Wolves on a five-year deal, following an impressive season in La Liga. Lopez scored four goals in 20 appearances for Celta Vigo during the 2024/25 campaign.

“This is an amazing opportunity for my career,” Lopez said in his first interview with the club. “I’m very happy to be playing in the Premier League.”

Vitor Pereira’s Vision Draws Fer Lopez to Molineux

Lopez revealed that Wolves manager Vitor Pereira played a key role in his decision to join the club.

“Vitor told me I was a good fit,” he said. “The team did very well under him, and I’m excited to work with him.”

Pereira’s strong finish to last season has clearly influenced the club’s summer plans, with Lopez expected to be a core part of the team’s evolving attack.

Fer Lopez Joins Wolves: Fer Lopez’s Premier League Dream

Lopez is no stranger to England. He briefly lived in Suffolk in 2018 and trained with Norwich City’s academy before returning to Spain.

Now, he’s set to return to English football—this time in the top flight.

“I played at the Bernabeu, Barcelona, and Atletico,” Lopez said. “Now I want to feel those same atmospheres here in England.”

Lopez Replaces Key Departures at Wolves

Wolves are rebuilding after two major exits this summer.

Forward Matheus Cunha was sold to Manchester United for £62.5 million, and left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri joined Manchester City in a £31 million deal.

Fer Lopez arrives as a versatile attacking option and is seen as a vital addition to Wolves’ reshaped frontline.

La Liga to Premier League: A Rising Star’s Next Step

Lopez helped Celta Vigo to a seventh-place finish in La Liga and gained attention with his composure and movement on the ball.

The left-footed forward is expected to bring energy, flair, and youthful ambition to the Molineux pitch.

“I can’t explain it in words,” he said. “This is everything I’ve dreamed of.”
