Robbie Tinkler Leaves Gateshead After Contract Expiry Key defender departs after three spells and 215 games.

Robbie Tinkler has officially parted ways with Gateshead FC following the expiration of his contract, the club confirmed.

The 28-year-old defender exits after making 215 appearances across three separate spells with the National League side.

Tinkler first arrived on loan in the 2017/18 season. He returned in 2018/19, before rejoining for a third time in June 2021.


Title-Winning Mainstay and Trophy Hero

Tinkler played a pivotal role in Gateshead’s 2021/22 National League North title win.

He made 45 appearances that season as the club secured promotion to the National League.

The following campaign, he added 45 more appearances and helped guide the club to the 2023 FA Trophy final.


Ending on a High at Wembley

Tinkler signed off with a crowning moment—lifting the 2024 FA Trophy at Wembley Stadium.

That same season, Gateshead clinched a top-seven National League finish for the first time in a decade.
