Strasbourg’s Mamadou Sarr joins on long-term deal with chelsea.

Chelsea have secured the signature of Mamadou Sarr,a 19-year-old defensive standout from RC Strasbourg.

The French talent signed a deal running through 2033.

The move was confirmed on Monday by Chelsea, with the club praising Sarr’s breakout season in league 1.

Strasbourg Mamadou Sarr’s European push

Sarr made 28 appearances in 2024/25, playing a central role in Strasbourg’s seventh-place finish.

That secured a UEFA Conference League play-off spot.

His consistent form earned attention across Europe, and now the French youth international joins the Premier League.

Sarr began his journey at RC Lens’ academy, before refining his talent at Olympique Lyonnais.

He debuted in senior football at just 17, appearing in Ligue 1’s 2022/23 season’s penultimate round.

The following season saw a short loan to RWD Molenbeek in Belgium, where he continued his development.

Since joining Strasbourg in August, Sarr quickly became a fixture in the backline.

He started 27 League 1 matches, showing maturity beyond his years.

His performances helped fuel Strasbourg’s strong campaign and earned him France U20 national team appearances.
